Port of Stornoway

Ferries and Ferry Companies Operating
(Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, Scotland, UK)

There is only one company operating ferry services from Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, which is Caledonian MacBrayne ferries.

The company runs the only ferry services from Isle of Lewis to Ullapool.

Caledonian MacBrayne Ferry Company

Caledonian MacBrayne is one of Scotland's premier ferry companies and it operates services to 22 islands and four peninsulas on the country's west coast. Services between Ullapool and Stornoway are well used, with the Isle of Lewis being a popular place for those taking holidays or weekend trips.

A single vessel operates the Stornoway to Ullapool route, the MV Isle of Lewis. It's the largest ship in the company's fleet and it has a capacity for 970 passengers and 123 cars. The MV Isle of Lewis is well equipped with passenger comforts and facilities such as lounges and dining areas. From the decks, excellent views of both Lewis and the North West Highlands are available. The observation lounge is also a good spot to follow the ship's progress, with its display screen that indicates the ship's position on the route. Other facilities on board include lift and toilets for disabled passengers, a play area for children and an area for dogs.

Aside from the MV Isle of Lewis, the company's fleet is extensive and it incorporates a total of 31 vessels, each of which is assigned to one of the 26 routes operated by the company. All ships feature essential passenger facilities.
