Caledonian MacBrayne ferries operate the only crossings between Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis and Ullapool on mainland Scotland.


Services are generally twice daily, though at certain times during the peak season there may be three crossings per day. Journey times are 2 hours, 45 minutes and the route is served by a traditional speed vessel. The ship manning this route offers a good selection of passenger facilities.

On arriving at Ullapool ferry terminal, passengers will find some limited facilities, while parking is also provided. In the town of Ullapool there's a reasonable selection of accommodations available for those needing somewhere to stay for the night, ahead of or after a ferry crossing.
